Is it worth buying the new dyson airwrap?!

I’m contemplating but the new dyson airwrap co-anda 2.0 but really can’t figure out if it is worth the hefty price tag. No discounts being offered on it yet. Any reviews from wise mumsnetters who have bought it.

I have one, it’s phenomenal. Wet to bouncy blow out in under 10 minutes, game changing.

I haven’t ever tried anything cheaper however!

My mum and sis have one each but they bought it a couple of years back so have the older models. There are discounts on those models only the new one has no discount at all. I have used the hair dryer and loved it. I am just wondering if I will use all the other styling options. I mainly straighten or just blow dry. Though I love the idea of curls. I have long hair.

No, in a word. Expensive watch aste of space as far as I’m concerned.

Do you have one and how much have you used it if at all?!

Total waste of money. Curls drop out within minutes.

LibbyL92 · 06/01/2026 09:42

Buying the airwrap was one of the biggest wastes of money for me. So it’s a hard no for me.

did absolutely nothing for my hair!

Labelleviepourmoi · 06/01/2026 09:51

I love my Dyson Airwrap but I have old model

ClareVoiance · 06/01/2026 09:54

£580 for a hairdryer?Shock

DP got it for me for my birthday. It’s amazing!

JuneButter · 06/01/2026 13:48

I’ll also preface my recommendation by saying it depends on your hair type. My hair is naturally curly, so the curls last 3-4 days without dropping out. I think people with other hair types have issues with the curls lasting.

I bought the original which I have loved when they first came out . Is the newer model an improvement?

spring1979 · 06/01/2026 13:57

Just to add I have medium straight hair and it give me big bouncy hair not really curls . .

Exactly the same here!

I've considered this too op but looking at reviews, way too many say the curls drop out immediately.

Noshadelamp · 29/01/2026 01:27

I have the older model and it's amazing.
As for curls falling out quickly, I only had that problem when I changed conditioner.
I've changed back to a more keratin conditioner instead of moisture only and the curls are back, lasting days until I wash my hair again.

explanationplease · 29/01/2026 10:06

I don’t have one but I can say that the difference between versions of Dyson vacuum are less than you’d imagine. Mainly battery power, when you boil it down.

explanationplease · 29/01/2026 10:07

(And they always talk those up!)

Lovelynames123 · 29/01/2026 10:09

I haven't used an airwrap but if you want lasting curls I can thoroughly recommend the Tymo curler - on freshly washed hair with no styling product my curls last for days, even after sleeping on it. Best hair purchase I've ever made

I have a Dyson dupe dryer from amazon and it dries my thick hair from wet in under 10 minutes

lunar1 · 29/01/2026 10:12

Another vote for the tymo curl pro, I sold my airwrap, hated it
