Brabantia bin lid

Hi,

My mum has accused me of 'breaking' her bin lid on her beloved bin (!).

It is one of those ones you press and it opens.

Can you get replacement lids?

Any help appreciated!

aren't they garenteeed for ten years? I'm sure I've read that somewhere.

WoWWidow · 10/06/2008 08:39

Ohhh i dont know!

My mum is crap though and wont have kept a recipt or anything.

She has been stamping around for weeks because he bin is broken. Like she doesn't have anything else to worry about!

my dh accused me of breaking our bin. I said 'yes, of course it was me, I'm the only one who ever bothers to chuck anything into it!'.

they are BRILLIANT. no receipt, no proof of purchase, just call the helpline and they'll send you a new one out. or the little closer part if that's what's broken. cannot fault the brabantia cust service. i've had a new lid off them and my pal ordered her replacement closer from them on their internet site.

WoWWidow · 10/06/2008 08:45

Wow! I have just been on the brabantia website and can buy a replacement lid for £25!

No way!

speak to them before you buy anything.

AitchTwoCiao · 10/06/2008 08:46

okay, you're not listening... i get that.

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/06/2008 08:47

Don't buy one - they send them out for free!

WoWWidow · 10/06/2008 08:47

Cool thanks!

Will get my mum to talk to them she is harsh and always gets her way. On the phone anyway.

It is the hinges that are broken!

Wow, Aitch is right, their customer service is excellent.

Our lid broke last year, they sent us a brand new replacement, with no reciept or anything.

We emailed them, they asked a couple of things (only address details and where the word Brabantia was written on the lid) and that was it!

AitchTwoCiao · 10/06/2008 20:55

seriously, your mum won't have to play hard-ball, they are guaranteed for 10 years and tbh i'm not even sure the design's been in existence for that long so they don't bother to query it.

alittleteapot · 10/06/2008 21:08

we got a free one from John Lewis which was immediately nicked out of our car (??!!) and JL gave us another new one straight off.

Brabantia are fab! I just phoned them and they sent me a new lid. Fabulous customer service.

So good in fact, that I wrote a glowingly gushing letter to thank them.
