Gift for 30th birthday (brother)?

Hi,

Thinking of giving something nice for my brother's 30th (and combining Christmas gift). He lives in Canada, has a good job himself but quite frugal generally. We've never really exchanged gifts, just a phone call, but this year I just feel like giving something.

My first choice: a classic Burberry cashmere scarf (£435). Once I asked him if he wanted anything from the UK when we were meeting up, he jokingly said, Burberry, so I thought he's not immune to brands.

Second choice: a Johnstons of Elgin cashmere scarf (£350). Again just wanted to give something to keep him warm, and apparently they make a lot of the Burberry scarves.

Or the more conservative choice: A Channel handcream (£54). Feel like this is very gifty and low pressure. He loses things all the time maybe a bit risky to give the scarf. Also maybe he'll feel more comfortable receiving this, being quite frugal.

Any other luxury-coded gifts, preferably with gift box? Upper budget is the Burberry scarf. Needs global shipping.

Thanks!
