Umbrella - folding, strong and lightweight?

Is there such a thing as an umbrella that folds up small, is lightweight but is also strong enough not to go inside-out in a gust of wind? Wanted as a Christmas gift for DD who is at uni in a famously rainy city and walks a lot...

I think it mainly depends how your DD treats them. I have one from my school days - going on 40 years! - but I am a careful caterpillar. It's a totes brand, if that helps, and probably the bulkiest of them. I also have a navy with pale blue pindots one from M&S which I borrowed from my SIL 15+ yrs ago and a navy one with a sheath my MIL gave me 20+ yrs ago.

The repel umbrellas on amazon are very good. I walk to and from work and they are great. Not heavy

My running theory is, there are no good umbrellas anymore. I've given up.
