Recommendations for leak proof cup/bowl suitable for microwaving soup

Hello

Can anyone recommend a cup or lidded bowl suitable for microwaving soup other than either the Sistema or the Brabantia ones.

I want something with a leakproof lid that I can take a portion of soup to work in, and then is suitable for microwaving it and where the plastic doesn't get all scratched if the soup boils a little.

I've tried both the above brands and in both cases the plastic has been scratched after use.

Thanks

I think Stanley do food flasks, but I'm thinking now I've said that, that you can't microwave them! I've had no problem with the Sistema ones with the handles though, either the bowl type ones or the mug ones. Maybe pop a layer of cling film tightly over before snapping the lid on?

Take the soup in a bottle and heat it in a big mug.

I think that this is the might be the best way; a ceramic mug isn't going to be affected by the hot soup in the way the plastic ones are.

That's my other option - take the soup in a food flask and then heat in a ceramic mug as Ohthatsabitshit suggested. I didn't have problems with either brand of soup mug leaking, but more that the hot soup damaged the plastic making it look scratched which didn't seem very hygienic.

But thank you both for your suggestions.

The systema ones are good. You can get a soup one or all different shapes and sizes.

Unfortunately my experiences with the Sistema ones haven't been good; I've tried several and they've always ended up with scuffed plastic inside. It's probably my zap it all in go technique which is the problem, but at work with a queue forming I feel somewhat self conscious cooking it in small sessions and stirring between each one.

Kilner jars go in the microwave but they get very hot to take out. A really nice mug is much your best bet.

I have been considering a food flask for this, although the heating in a mug is a good idea. I am trying to avoid plastic, especially being microwaved as I've become concerned about micro plastics getting into my food. I did have the Sistema one previously, and like yours OP, mine became all "bubbled" from the heat after a while.
Someone at work did have a metal lunch box which somehow could be microwaved, they thought it was the rounded edges. It would probably be no good for carrying soup in from home I'd imagine, but great for reheating leftovers.
