Vinted sales going much slower than usual - anyone else?

I’ve been using Vinted for just over two years now. I tend to post things in batches. Up until this summer, I’d reliably get 2-3 sales within 48 hours of posting a batch, and the rest would mostly be gone within the week. There have always been items I just can’t shift and end up donating instead, but I could definitely count on making some sales.

Over the last few months, it’s been extremely slow and I’ve barely been able to sell anything, no matter how much I lower the price. I genuinely think my items are priced cheaply (based on previous sales, similar items, as well as that new tool they have showing a price range for x item). It’s similar stuff to what I was selling before, mostly mainstream brands and all seasonal items in good or great condition. I always fill out as many details as possible, upload a lot of photos including labels, lining, cuffs, etc. and try to write a detailed and useful description. My rating is just short of 5 stars (had to cancel two sales a while ago, but my member reviews are all 5 stars)

I also feel like I’m getting less views and “favourites,” but even with the more popular items, converting them into sales feels impossible.

I tried boosting two of my higher-value items and I barely got one like out of it, so it was a complete waste of money.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Are people just buying less, or have Vinted changed something in their algorithm? If I’m doing something wrong, please enlighten me, but I haven’t changed anything and I was selling a fair amount before!

edit: sorry for the random bolding, tried removing it but was unsuccessful

I think the size change has had a massive impact. I don’t even bother looking at vinted now for clothes, the size issue is so frustrating.

hivizzz · 25/11/2025 16:32

@Screamingabdabz oh yeah, that was a terrible call. Although I think things were quite sluggish even before the change. Are you using a different platform now?

Agreed, the sizing thing is ludicrous. I’ve just bought a few kids’ things recently as the sizes are clearer than the new women’s sizing madness.

HansHolbein · 25/11/2025 16:33

I stopped buying, nothing to do with pricing or the sellers themselves.

Too many parcels going missing (InPost fault) and shit ‘customer service’ from Vinted.

Plump82 · 25/11/2025 16:34

I've bought bought anything on there since the sizing fiasco. Nothing I search for is actually my size so I've more or less given up.

Holluschickie · 25/11/2025 16:35

I only started buying from Vinted last month. Then the size change came in. Not buying now. It's just too confusing. Also so many sellers don't list length or material.

hivizzz · 25/11/2025 16:36

Damn, ok, I did think the sizing changes were a bad idea but hadn’t realised just how much they were putting people off!

I’ve given up since the size change

hivizzz · 25/11/2025 16:37

What are we using instead? 👀

Holluschickie · 25/11/2025 16:38

I also made the mistake of ordering a package via Evri and they lost it. I didn't realise you could choose Royal Mail.

hivizzz · 25/11/2025 16:41

@Holluschickie as a seller, you can select which methods you want to send with (e.g., I have evri, royal mail, and dpd but not inpost as the closest lockers to me are still too far). So it could be that your seller had offered evri as an option but not royal mail?

Yep, I would buy 3-4 items a month on Vinted and my whole wardrobe has been bought on there
the new sizing has put me right off, it was so easy before as you have to sift through a ton of stuff that’s not your size!
wont bother now
such a shame

nayals · 25/11/2025 18:47

It may also be due to the run up to Christmas. People are spending their money on new christmas gifts rather than second hand.

Thenamechangecometh · 25/11/2025 18:49

What exactly is the sizing change as I’ve been off the Vinted app for a couple of months? I was trying to find skirts yesterday and finding it hard to narrow down sizes- is that the issue?

molly5678 · 25/11/2025 18:56

@Thenamechangecometh you can’t search by size 8, 10, 12 etc now…they’ve changed to 12-14, 16-18 and so on

GiddyDog · 25/11/2025 18:58

I'm another buyer who's stopped bothering since the size categories changed.

This is a good point. Since InPost and Yodel merged I seem to have lots of issues with deliveries. InPost used to be great but they seem to have lowered themselves to Yodel’s standards so now they’re bloody useless. In the past if I had delivery issues, Vinted would usually resolve them within 48 hours and refund me quickly but I’ve been waiting 2 weeks so far for an update / refund for a bag I bought that InPost never delivered to the drop-off point and appears to have been lost. I am so sick of it.

Between delivery issues and the sizing mess, I’m buying (and selling) a lot less than I used to. It’s just become so much aggro.

Same here. Such a shame.

DarkForces · 25/11/2025 19:02

The sizing changes are really annoying. Firstly checking that the seller has updated their listings and then seeing if they've said the actual size. I just want to buy a size 10 not a size 8. It used to be fun bargain hunting but it's just list its shine 😔

sparklystar333 · 25/11/2025 19:06

The sizing thing is a real pain. It took me an hour to find a coat for my daughter, bought one in "very good condition" and it arrived with the lining ripped and very well worn. Bought another coat which has got lost by Yodel. It's more trouble than it's worth. I had bought loads prior to the sizing change.

Jadebear · 25/11/2025 19:09

I’m a buyer & seller.
I looked for some Xmas tops last night. I’m a size 14. What a waste of time. 99% of the ones I looked at in the new ‘M’ size, so 12-14, were actually a size 10, so I assume sellers hadn’t updated their listings.
So like other posters, I now won’t bother cos it’s just pointless until this irons itself out, as it’s just too annoying. Instead I spent £250 at M&S! (I’ll probably send most things back as they won’t fit, but hey ho!)

Hohumdedum · 25/11/2025 19:14

Agree size change is a total pita. I've changed all my headings to include the size. Apart from making searching harder, the recommendations I'm given are now often the wrong size so I'm less inclined to impulse buy.

Are you continually adding new things? I find if something doesn't sell in the first few days it doesn't sell at all unless I'm adding new stuff to get people to my profile.

The last two parcels I ordered (Evri and Inpost) have been lost.

Not a different platform - I still use eBay occasionally but shame about vinted. I’ve just stalled until they realise their monumental mistake and go back to how it was before.

heartsinvisiblefury · 25/11/2025 19:33

It’s the size change. I’ve gone to eBay now.

mummabubs · 25/11/2025 20:40

I used to buy a couple of items a week and stopped completely as soon as the size changes came in. If you're between sizes (I'm a 10-12) it's become unusuable. I use the app so would need to click on each individual listing as to get size 10 and size 12 results (size filter S and M results) I also now get 8s and 14 as S is 8-10 and M is 12-14. And that's assuming sellers have had the chance to check that their old listings are now accurately sized against the new system. It's just not worth it.
