Slow cookers - advice needed!

I'm planning to get a slow cooker; the biggest thing I'd want to cook in it would be a duck. Would I need a whopping 6.5 litre cooker or should a 4.5l do?

I'd get the bigger one if you can afford it. Once you start cooking things in it you will want to do more and more, plus batch cooking for the freezer is ideal in a slow cooker. you dont have to fill the whole thing up.

make sure you get one where the inner crock pot can be taken out for easier cleaning (maybe they are all like that now, mine is a bit of an antique!).

I again second the larger one.
I do casserloes etc for 3 family meals and freeze 2

Great advice - I'm always cooking large quantities for the freezer. We only have a family of three at the moment, but I anticipate two more additions over the next few years so I may as well get prepared, eh?

Thanks, and have a lovely, sunny day! xxx
