hi all!

First post so please be gentle with me!

Looking for some recommendations for a UK based lab grown diamond jeweller, hubby has said he'd like to upgrade my original engagement ring for Xmas

We've looked at

Lily Arkwright
77 Diamonds
Diamond Factory

We're quite remote so we can't get to places like Hatton Garden or jewellery quarter, looking online for someone good, with nice designs.

Any experiences with the above? Lily Arkwright seem to have some great prices, 77 diamonds service so far hasn't been the best, diamond factory makes me a bit wary with all the sale/not in sale.

I had a diabolical experience getting a custom ring from lily arkwright.
Utterly diabolical.

The main stone fell out within 2 weeks while i was with new coworkers and i had to scrabble around a wine bar looking for it...for 2 hours
How professional!

The final ring they made didnt even match the orginal specifications but i was totally over it by then as it was at least 4 month post orginal completion date.

As context i asked for a very simple bezel setting... so they took the money and 6 or 7 months later still hadnt produced a final ring then they said "oh so we are unable to do make the ring we designed - can we send you something woth a claw setting instead - soz!"

If you are buying standard of the website pieces it's probably fine but there were just awful.
For various reasons I didnt have the energy or enthuasism to complain properly at the time.

Use an independent jewellery maker. I can recommend someone. She made a lab grown diamond engagement ring recently for a friend.

In was a couple of years ago. I chose them because they had great reviews.

Like i said the pre-manufactured stuff is prob fine.

I had 3 very old ( one was at least 70 years old , an engagement ring with 3 diamonds and two wedding rings ) melted down and redesigned into my wedding ring .
It means so much to me as they were my mum's ( all from my dad ) who are both not here now .
Used a local independent jeweller who discussed designs with me , and we also added 2 extra diamonds .
