Gift for second baby

My niece is having her second baby soon, her daughter will be 3 when her sister arrives. I’m trying to think of something to buy as a gift, when her first baby was born I crocheted her a baby blanket and bought a small toy but I know she still has everything saved so I need your suggestions about what to get this time.

My SIL has recently taught herself to crochet and has made a few jackets etc for the first child so I’m not sure if I can make anything useful this time round. My budget is around £30 to £50 and I’m struggling what to get. I will be seeing her at Christmas when the baby will be a few weeks old so I won’t be posting the gift.

I think you should crochet a blanket especially for the new baby and give a small toy if you want - make them totally different from the ones you gave DC1.

Having 2 DDs, I know that DC2 should have keepsakes too. Of course, DC2 will enjoy all the hand-me-downs but there should be things that are just for him/her.

DD2's most treasured stuffed toy was a gift from an auntie.

Yes, I could crochet a stuffed lovey which would just be for the baby. Definitely not a blanket as my niece has already told her mum that she has enough, including some new ones from her first baby that have never been used!
