ideally one she can lift, preferably not too girly, no streamers, fluffy things etc.

she is on a wooden pedal less one at the moment and is balancing well.

After searching for months for a bike I thought didn't exist for my ds2, I found islabikes recommended on mumsnet and they really are as good as people say, very lightweight but very well made. My 4 year old learnt to ride without stablilisers on the 2nd day!

KathG - nice to meet another fan. It's a leap of faith though ordering without seeing them first.
I was so impressed by the craftsmanship I wrote her a letter of thanks. I don't think I've ever done that before!
Most people don't care these days, everything is cobbled together and all the other bikes I saw in the shops were so heavy.
