Help with token gifts

I need help finding 10 small gifts for my team having discovered I'm leaving and ideally need them by next week. I don't want to spend loads, less than a fiver each. No food due to juggling 3 allergies. Team range from a male in early 20s to women nearing retirement. I was thinking these keyring from flamingo candles but they're very female and don't get great reviews. Any suggestions?

  • Tiny plants in cute pots.
  • Some Halloween decorations.
  • Personalized mouse pads ( if you work in an office)
  • Wolly hats.

Honestly, if your budget is less than a fiver pp I wouldn’t bother!!
bake cake or take a tub of chocolates on your last day.

Coffee/tea mugs
Water bottles
Notebooks/stationery
Candles (for the women)

For a small budget you could try the likes of Home Bargains, B&M, Card Factory or Poundland.

Pen with their name on?

Christmas decorations?

BasiliskStare · 13/10/2025 21:55

I once bought DH a little wine stopper for Christmas and it is still being used - similar to this - the one I bought was 4.95 from John Lewis so these are quite a bit cheaper - haven't ordered these so don't know the quality. If you split the pack perhaps you could put some tea or a packet of seeds in as well .

Just my thought FIW ( probably little 😊)

The image of the keyring you shared made me think of a trolley token. I love a trolley token gift! 😂 They are so handy, I have one in my car, one on my keys, one in my purse. I actually got one as part of a leaving gift and I always think of them now when I use it.

There’s some on Etsy you can get personalised with colours and initials for a decent price and they may give you a discount for a bulk buy. I know you say no food. But you if you know what the allergies are, I’d be tempted to get a pack of gift bags, add in a block of chocolate and/or sweets which meet their requirements with the little trolley token.

Why do adults buy other adults tat? I wouldn’t expect a gift from someone leaving my office, if I enjoyed their company - a card and staying in touch is lovely.

NewHat · 13/10/2025 22:33

Just take in a cake or a box of biscuits. There’s a reason that those things are the norm. People don’t want token gifts as a rule.

justanotherdrama · 13/10/2025 22:40

I’d get a big tub of sweets and a £1 scratch card for everyone to all do at work together for fun to “pool the winnings” as a bit of a laugh but I wouldn’t do bits and bobs - some people like that buy a lot of people don’t

DappledThings · 13/10/2025 22:41

Why are you buying stuff when you are the one leaving? That's really odd.

bollockyness · 13/10/2025 22:54

Agree with PP - a scratch card is a cheap and fun token gift.

A succulent plant

h0rsewithn0name · 14/10/2025 07:36

I left a role at this time of the year, and bought my team an advent calendar each. They went down really well.

GAJLY · 14/10/2025 08:00

Combine the money and order pizza in! They'll love it and will remember that day! An old boss did this for us and we talked about it often! Free hot food brings more joy than a keyring! I'm sure you could order a special pizza for the people with allergies?

I lost this post so it's taken me ages to come back! Thank you great ideas, ordering something to share or bringing a cake won't work as we're all in different offices! I loved the idea of a plant but also worried they wouldn't survive being picked up and I've got a 3 hour journey down to deliver them! I've bought myself an extra 2 weeks in the team so am going to get and take down then thank you for some suggestions above. I get the point about tat, I'm doing a card as well but people seem to like tat so I'm going with it! I know it seems weird to do gifts the other way round but I'm a grade significantly higher than my team and they've been a fantastic group to work with so I want to give them something rather than them doing a collection for me
