Echo Dot Kids+ ?

Hello my 7 year old only child is about to turn 8. She loves music. She listens to Malory Towers on audiobook on repeat, over and over and over (albeit often just as background).

im considering an Echo Dot Kids gadget for her birthday. Has anyone else any experience of these things? I’m a bit nervous she may disappear into it!

thank you.

Following as we have been considering this for our daughter too (age 6)

My dc just had a normal echo dot with parental controls on it at that age. They worked really well for audio books and music.
When is her birthday? You've just missed an Amazon prime sale, but they will have more on black Friday and the dots are usually really reduced.

When my daughter was 6 we got her a Tonie box. They are really good but most titles are abridged. I think this is whenever there is the slightest moment of peril it is removed so that they can market it to 5 year olds. Unfortunately my daughter needs the complexity and a proper story even if it has some light peril.

Her birthday is and if this month. It is the story of my life to miss out on offers!

We have these for all 3 of our kids with Amazon prime kids. They listen to music, stories and radio - they’re fab.

We’ve got a Tonie box but she is getting a little bored of it now. May need to look into what other ones are available.
