I've booked a space at an NCT nearly new sale to sell all the baby stuff we no longer require. Any advice from anyone who's already done one please? I'm not really sure what to expect! TIA.

I price all of dds clothes as cheap as possible, as i just want to shift it really.

One lady who I met there last time told me that all big stuff she marks at between 25% amd 33% of what she paid.

Our local branch tell you to use a different colour pen when doing the tickets, as it stands out for when they sort them.

Also good to stay and help on the day.

If in doubt price low. You can make little bundles of similar items - eg 3 t shirts for 50p / £1.

Leave batteries in toys so people know they are working.

Make sure it is all well presented, ironed etc, toys wiped down and all bits complete. Put any istructions in a plastic bag sellotaped to the item. (our NCT started refusing to sell things like buggies without the instructions - something to do with H&S, and you will probably find restrictions on electrical items and soft toys). Put the age clearly on the label,

I have sold and helped out at several, and have always priced low to sell everything rather than carry it back home.

People put in bags of really grubby vests, pants and socks - they never seem to sell!
