French bike website

I am l looking to buy a mountain bike here from in the UK for delivery in France. I have tried Amazon.fr but struggled to get a result. The only one suitable we found, the supplier cancelled the order, stating they did not deliver to the required address (mainland France) so not sure what went on there..

Anyway, do any MN's know of any French websites (thinking like Halfords etc) who sell reasonably-priced, bog-standard mountain bikes please?

PS Decathlon bikes are not what we are after - they aren't suitable for a number of tried and tested reasons.

since you're located in EU can't you use one of many EU sites, like Cannondale? www.cannondale.com/en-nl

Netherlands is full of great bike websites.
Have a day trip to Amsterdam and go try a load of the nice bikes out.

Decathlon has a good range of bikes.

We are not in the EU, sorry. A day trip to the NL not an option right now!

I have looked at the likes of Cannondale etc - but budget-wise not suitable! Which is why I mentioned something like Halfords etc.

As also mentioned, Decathlon already looked at/tried in situ but not what we want.

I think the problem is Decathlon, though it carries an increasingly limited range of stock, actually is the French equivalent of Halfords when it comes to bikes.

If they don't have what's needed most locals head off to their little local bike shop...

I agree that Decathlon is the equivalent of Halfords for bike buying in France. Most towns have a local bike shop. I’m fairly sure I’ve seen bikes (of uncertain quality) in Carrefour. Possibly also Nord Auto but they only have 1 bike online and it’s electric.

I live in France and have bought two bikes in the last couple of years, the first came from Decathlon, bought online, I was very happy with it and the second I went to my local bike shop and got another (more expensive) bike but which is equally as good. If you're in Brittany I can give you the details. But there is an independent bike shop on virtually every corner around here
