Advice needed from Mountain Buggy Urban with carrycot owners!!

We are getting a MB Urban and trying to decide whether or not to get carry cot. Does the carry cot go on/come off easily and can we do it with baby still in it? We live upstairs so want to be able to leave the frame downstairs and bring the carrycot upstairs while little one is still sleeping.

yes you can take it off with baby still in it, we did,it just clips on/off

i would def recommend a caerrycot for 1st few months

second what mumof75 said, we did exactly that with our mb carrycot for ds2 (although of course it is quite a bulky item to carry up and downstairs all the time). Really comfy and well protected, he had loads of room.

Thanks accessorizequeen. It is only for 2 months so hope it will be alright carrying it up and down the stairs. If we have to take her out of it all the time then really not much point getting the carrycot as we may as well just be taking her out of the buggy.

Definitely worth it, and I managed to get it on/off easily even with 10lb 9oz newborn

You can get them much cheaper 2nd hand on ebay then resell for virtually the same price

Glad to hear that, aw as I'll be selling mine v.soon. Sad I can't use it next time really. Do you think you get more money selling buggy+carrycot or separately? How're things btw?

amazonianwoman · 04/06/2008 23:33

I think I'd sell separately.

I bought carrycot for £45 from ebay (local pickup) & sold for £40 I think (on here - may have got more on ebay?)

Bet you'll be gutted to sell the MB

Things are great, DS almost 15mths is great fun now, gets on really well with DD.

When are you due?

accessorizequeen · 05/06/2008 12:33

cheers, aw, I got mine for £55 I think off ebay (couldn't find any for months and only bought it a week before ds2 arrived!). I tried to keep it in really good nick, same with mb itself. I must admit I am attached to my buggy, it's only the thought of a new red one (we've always wanted red!) with matching cow print buggy snuggles (I already own one) that makes me feel better.

I love seeing my two together, they were giggling in the car about a hat yesterday, so sweet Can't imagine 4 in the back! Due 1st oct, will be induced at 37/38 if I don't go into labour though.

Hope for your sake we don't have a really hot summer then... Guess you'll be needing a bigger car too
