I have a small car - I want a small buggy that'll fit in the boot

I have a new (to me anyway) car - it's a ten year old Renault Clio.
It has a tiny boot and my DD's Maclaren techno buggy won't fit inside. It's too long

I would like a small buggy that'll fit, a maclaren style fold-up one. Preferably cheap too
I've looked about but a lot of them are quite long when folded.

Any ideas?

cant be a smaller boot thant he matiz. i could fit a maclaren quest, triumph or volo in there as th handles are lower on those than the techno

We used to have a mothercare cheapy one that fitted nicely in the boot of my ford fiesta.

I think this is it in this seasons colours....a bit chavvy bright in the pink though. It's just over a metre long when folded, but looking at the XLR spec, that isn't all that shorter

lackaDAISYcal · 30/05/2008 21:06

this one is only 99cm folded.

The volo is teeny tiny folded up. Well it fits a lot better in the boot of my 206 than my techno did

my loola goes in the boot of my step moms matiz and like misdee said the clio boot can`t be smaller then that.

Sorry I only just got chance to read your replies.
I think the mothercare one would be too long if it's over a metre. Plus I don't think I could cope with all the pink . I could get the blue one though...

Just had a look at a volo online - does anyone have any ideas how long it is when folded?

I'm sure it would fit.
Maybe I should measure the boot....

the volo etc are smaller all around as well as shorter so will give you more room to put it diagonally across the boot IYSWIM

PeppermintPatty · 31/05/2008 20:06

It's 92cm long
Ooooo diagonally - I didn't think of that although the boot is quite small width ways as well. But prob enough to make a difference.

Do you think there's any chance a shop (like Mothercare) would let me try it to see if it would fit, before I bought it???

yes of course they will! Try to go when they should be quiet though or you'll spend ages waiting for them to help you.

PeppermintPatty · 31/05/2008 20:13

Oooo goody
Thanks for your help CarGirl and everyone else too.
Think it's gonna be the volo and I'll try before I buy!

yes they will. i took my matiz to mothercare, and said i needed a buggy to fit i na tiny book. we tried all the maclarens. the volo, triumph, quest and ryder all fitted. i got the ryder as it had the best deal on it at the time, came with footmuff and dd3 was only 6months old at the time, so wanted a decent recline.

techno was too long to get in the boot.
