We are expecting no.3 and looking around, we could get one of these for the price of our current car.
Big enough?
Thanks in advance.

We got a grand scenic in 2003 and have 3 seats along the middle row of seats.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 30/05/2008 16:59

Hopefully then the seats in yours would be the same as the smaller model except you obv. have the extra ones behind?

Yes, the grand is a 7 seater and the scenic is a 5 seater.

tassisssss · 30/05/2008 19:19

we have a scenic and you can easily get 3 car seats in the back

iamdingdong · 30/05/2008 19:21

we couldn't have got a third child seat in our scenic, could barely fit an adult between the twins' seats

foxythesnowfox · 30/05/2008 19:24

Yes, but doing the seatbelts up is tricky. If you have the 5 point harness seats its not a problem, but a booster or normal seatbelt can be tricky especially in the middle seat. You have to think about who's going to go next to who, we had baby-oldest-toddler, as had to keep toddler away from baby obviously.

But do-able. And big boot space.

I can't think of the name of the other car we looked at (helpful, huh?) it was the same size as the Renault but had two more seats in the back which were flip down ones. I'll apply myself to it and have a think.

It just gives you more options for who goes where.

As you look towards the boot from the front I have DS1 on the left, DS2 in the middle (smallest so I can see out) and DD on the right. All 3 children are now in Maxi Cosi Rodis, and I just pull each one out of the way, strap in DD, put middle seat back, move out DS1's seat, strap in DS2, put back DS1's seat and strap him in. Takes no more time than when I had harnessed in DS2.

Vauxhall Zafira.

Phew. That was bothering me.

ja9 · 31/05/2008 14:02

(tassissss isn't yours the next model?)

tassisssss · 31/05/2008 20:38

mine is possibly the next model. i thought it was 03, but ja9 could be right.

right now it's in the garage and i was astonished to discover that we can fit (at a push) 3 booster seats in the back of the fabulous corsa they've given us as a courtesy car.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 01/06/2008 16:51

What do you mean by 5 point harness seat? Like a Britax eclipse?

LIZS · 01/06/2008 17:46

yes you can , middle one is 3 point belt but slightly narrower than the outer 2, both of which are isofix. We've had 2 01 models.

mumoftwo37 · 01/06/2008 17:52

You'd be better off with a Citroen Picasso - they have 3 full size seats in the back. We had a 99 Scenic and it was crap- we spent so much money getting it fixed all the time. Now have a 56 Citroen Picasso which is in a different class to be honest. I would never, ever touch another Renault with a barge pole- if you check car websites you will see loads of people have problems with them.
