I got ds one for Christmas, and it refused to turn on, completely dead. Couldn't find one in shops anywhere bar where I bought it (Woolworths) and I'd sent a friend miles of driving away just to get this one! Returned it to Woolworths just after christmas (after a teary Christmas day with 3 year old ds who didn't understand ) who told me they had none more but to keep trying. Five months later I've given up, got a refund, and bought a second hand one off ebay.
It's arrived, with six games. Looks in half decent condition, some scribbing and a few games are a bit tatty. Put a book in it - refused to acknowledge to 'go' button has been pressed. Got it to work four pages later, then it decided not to.
I've tried two of the books it came with but it seems to recognise the cartridge but not the book. Tried all four of some of ds's brand new books he had for christmas, none worked. Tried another that it came with and it claimed it wasn't a leappad book! It says it is but is very old and tatty and looks for an older system.
Feeling really stressed now, ds is in tears again, and I have no idea why f-ing thing isn't working! It just keeps telling to check the book is sitting properly! It is !!!!!
