smeg concert induction cooker HELP!!

I hope I get answers in shopping, if anyone else can think of a better place I will move it. I got a Smeg concert induction hob cooker installed yesterday. The bloke tested it all so I saw it working. Today I cannot get the hob to heat. The manual is useless. I am using the same pan as he used yesterday. the oven is fine. Please can anyone who has the same or same brand cooker walk me through using the hob in words of one syllable? I KNOW its something I am doing or not doing and its driving me crazy. Many thanks.

Have you got anywhere? I found my new kitchen stuff hard to get to grips with.

Maybe you should talk us theough what you are doing, so we can see if you are missing anything?

Thank you both I have a happy ending. I bought the cooker from AO. The fitters were running late and one of them left a very posh expensive looking blowtorch behind. I messaged AO who said they would pass the message on to the fitter and he would collect it. He messaged me earlier to say could he come tuesday and I asked if he would repeat his hob use demo. He agreed so I am going to stand there with a pad and paper and write down the instructions!

Mine’s a chatty little gadget, forever bleeping and pinging at me. It’s altogether more opinionated than the late, unlamented gas hob.

Can I suggest you video his hands and the hob as he speaks? May be more useful than your notes!

I can't learn from videos...yes I know its weird.

I’m the same- can’t abide them. They work as records of what someone has said though. But you know what will work for you- I can’t listen and think at the same time.
