Which Type of Diamond Offers Better Value?

I need to buy diamonds, but I'm confused about whether to choose natural or lab-grown diamonds. I'm looking for good quality diamonds at an affordable price. Could you kindly suggest which type of diamond I should buy?

Second hand. They are ridiculously overpriced. One of the easiest things to do is buy a second hand unfashionable diamond ring from eBay in a prong setting and re-use the diamond.

I make jewellery, I’ve done this dozens of times.

Good quality lab grown are very similarly priced to good quality mined.
What you want is a reputable jeweler to help you.

'I need to buy diamonds...' Grin

What is it for? To retain value, look pretty, give as a gift? Because there are different concerns.

Is Antwerp still the place?
never needed to buy diamonds

Will lab diamonds lose even more value than real diamonds as they age ?

BreakingBroken · 05/08/2025 17:50

Diamonds don’t retain any value, they drop significantly from the moment they leave the store. It’s the gold setting that’s worth more over time.

I feel like this OP is missing a punchline of some sort.

Buying in trade they really aren't.
I'd generally think lab grown are about 10% of the price of natural, same spec, but I imagine the mark up is bigger when sold at retail
