Large suitcases with decent spinny wheels?

My suitcase has just gone to the big suitcase in the sky.
I'd really like a large, hard shell suitcase which is REALLY easy to push along upright. One with the multi directional spinny wheels. I'm talking being able to push it with one finger. (Well not really but you get the gist).
Not dirt cheap but nothing expensive as it will be used 2x a year at most!
Thanks for any recommendations

American Tourister I like. Made by Samsonite but their more budget end. If you've blue light card you get a discount too.

They’re aren’t cheap but Ted Baker suitcases are exactly as you describe, even the taxi driver commented on how easy they were to push.

Samsonite S,Cure, can get them in the sales, hardsided no zips, easy to push, use them multiple time a year maxed out to the weight limits never had any issues.

S'Cure

I only use hard shell and easy to push. We have many Antler suitcases - they are really good and seem robust. We have a couple of Tripp ones too, but they didn’t survive their first experience of American baggage handlers. Having said that, my husband replaced the broken wheels and they are as good as new - at the moment.

I bought 2 American Tourister suitcases from Target years ago when we had far too much stuff to squeeze into our homeward bound luggage. They must be 10 years old and are still going strong.

Not hard shell (heavy and no expandability!), but I’ve got a large and cabin sized spinner from Travel Pro, bought in the US YEARS ago, and they’re both going strong. The big one gets used once or twice a year, the small one gets used constantly - probably 15 times a year?

Check out M&S suitcases! Got mine there a few years ago and they are great and don’t break the bank!

Nevercan · 26/07/2025 17:42

Tripp suitcases are great and good value

EggyBreads · 26/07/2025 19:08

American tourister here , bought when on offer but ticks all boxes .
TBH every decent brand would do though

AWiseOwl · 26/07/2025 21:10

Antler, lifetime warranty. Rock seem robust too, ten year warranty. I’ve never had to claim on either warranty but both get good reviews.

user593 · 27/07/2025 00:19

Antler, we have the Stamford 2.0.

HolidayHappy123 · 27/07/2025 00:22

Just bought a couple of suitcases from Away and they are lush.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 27/07/2025 00:36

I think mine are American Tourister, got them in TK Maxx. Can’t fault them.

Shinyandnew1 · 27/07/2025 10:22

Ooh, this is a useful thread as we need a new suitcase as well!

Is 4 or 8 wheels best?!

AWiseOwl · 27/07/2025 12:38

I’ve never seen 8 wheels, antler heritage stripe here and they’re great.

DinoLil · 27/07/2025 12:44

I got a brilliant one from Home Bargains last year. Only about £30, tough as old boots and literally takes itself off to where you want it to go.
