Before i go insane trying to solve this i thought i see who's got what.

What colour funtiure have your kids got in their rooms ?? ie white, pine, beech etc etc ??

Dd2 is having a disney princess bedroom, divan bed so thats no prob, but then i can't decide on furniture. Had decided white but then got the wobbles and wasn't sure. She is 5 by the way.

So what have yours got ??

Oh and what do you think would go with this bookcase

Yes, they do do the hearts range in Index too. I quite like it. Not too fancy but still girly. And the hearts tie in with the Princess theme.

OOOh my brother can do stuff like that, he is really good too. Completely forgot about it though. Will have to ask him

I do like that pink bookcase from JL. Will bear that one in mind!

Dd also likes the mid sleeper with the castle tent bit and the slide.

I think whoever designed it doesn't have kids. Dd would never go to bed if she had a slide in her room.

nutty - we have seen that too! You can get it without the tower and slide, but DD would love the slide - but, as you say, wouldn't go to bed!!! When we do move into our new place we may get her it without the slide (make up an excuse as to why no slide!) as she likes the idea of having her bean bag and doll's underneath in the tent.

nutcracker · 18/01/2005 14:23

Yeah i thought about doing that too.

Well i will probably let her choose between the normnal bed and the princess canopy or the tent bed without the slide.

Hopefully she'll pick the cheapest

Ikea Wardrobe

I have this is DD1s bedroom - it's very girly, and looks like someone "drew" it - I love it, so does she!

Hulababy · 18/01/2005 14:32

catbrt - have they started doing the pink one again in Ikea then? We looked last year for DD and they only did the blue coloured one.

It's so cute, that wardrobe. Looks like something off the set of Who Framed Roger Rabbit !

KateandtheGirls · 18/01/2005 14:36

That Princess furniture is very cute, as long as you're happy to replace it in 5 years when she grows out of it.

I'm currently in the process of looking for furniture for my youngest who has just gone into a toddler bed from her cot. I'm hoping to find something that will last until she's a teenager. Obviously we won't be getting the same furniture as you guys, being in the US, but I'm thinking something like this and there's also a trundle that goes underneath it, so she can have sleepovers.

I love the idea of a mural on the wall, especially because it's easy to paint over once they're older. I have just bought these tatouage murals that you apply yourself, along with these accents . I think it will look really cute when it's done (and a lot cheaper than paying a profesisonal artist to do it!).

That bed is gorgeous, Kate

Do you really like it NCMM?

NameChangingMancMidlander · 18/01/2005 14:46

Ooops !

Hulababy · 18/01/2005 14:47

Kate - I love the bed, and I like the idea of the murals there. Will price something similar up in Uk I think.

KateandtheGirls · 18/01/2005 14:50

You must be able to get something similar in the UK (and they may even deliver to the UK, and with the strong pound it might not be a bad deal). My daughter's friend has some in her bedroom, with picket fences, flowers and butterflies and they look gorgeous - they look just like a hand painted mural.

I was hoping to find a bed that looked like it had come right out of a beach cottage, to go with the "theme", but I haven't been able to find what I'm picturing in my head. So tomorrow I'm off to Bombay Kids to see the bed in person, and I think I might get that one.
