Can anyone recommend a good reliable, medium priced washing machine? We paid over the odds for Bosch washer and have had nothing but trouble with it, and its rubbish engineers!!! Time has come to bin it and fork out for another.

Are you a member of Costco? They do a Whirlpool washer (we had one, until new kitchen fitted) and it was great and only £200 (or thereabouts). Now have a Zanussi which is ok but really expensive (integrated)

We have had a dead basic Bosch for years, they cost about £250 now, and it's wonderful-touch-wood! The one with the 6kg load is £270. I would get another one tomorrow.

We had an AEG before our Bosch and I loved it ... only changed to Bosch cos of local servicing but that said AEG is now owned by Electrolux and they don't use the same quality of parts as our (very old) one had. Miele are meant to be super ... but v. expensive.
