Hi,
I am struggling with getting an order of perfume (birthday present) shipped from France to the UK. After tracking my order I noted it had been 'sat' at a depot for several days. I contacted Customer Service at Goutal (perfume house) first e-mail no response then tried chat 'not available'. Finally got a response after trying their contact form again which said I would receive an email for 'douane fees'. I am assuming this is customs?
Feeling way out of my depth, not being a French speaker and relying on translation apps can anyone reassure me this is 'normal' and not some scam?
I know we are no longer in EU/ brexit etc has changed things but the e-mail requesting 'fees' that Goutal promised has not arrived and I don't know who to contact.
The carrier is Chronopost.
Any advice/ reassurance gratefully received.
Had I known this was going to happen would not have bothered ordering something from France however was a birthday present.
Wish I had stuck at French...
