Buy whatever curtains you like and then hook in blackout linings - I've always got mine from Rosebys.

Actually Hillarys were super quick and efficient for me, even with the awkward curved blind in my office. All depends on the local franchisee though.

Pavlovthecat · 23/05/2008 10:14

Pink - good. I waited 3 months for a blackout blind that does not keep the light out!

Erm...how about Rosebys, you have one of those? Or a Coop homemaker you have one of those near you? They might have it?

mandymac · 23/05/2008 10:14

Dunelm Mills are really good for readymade blackout blinds & curtains.

PinkChick · 23/05/2008 10:15

dp thinks we should just buy some black out lining too..so she has tape top flowery things(inherited when we bought house, which is why i want to change)..so if i buy the lining wil that hook on the tape at back??
(p.s hi mrs c, its me, rosegarden-flooded kitchen..went back to old name)

Yeah, it just attaches to the hooks on the curtains.

How is the kitchen going ? We have had a leak from the shower, and its come through the kitchen ceiling - DH is having fun managing the claim !

We had teh Hook in balck-out linings from Mothercare. they are plain white, and you need to buy a packet of teh white plastic curtain hooks, and then they just hook into the take on your existing curtains.

If that's still not dark enough, you can also use a plain white blackout blind as well.

With that combo, we have to wake DD at 7.30 during the week, and 8 at the weekend!

PinkChick · 23/05/2008 10:36

Thanks for that MissBlythe, i may go for the lining first then see how that is??

Mrs C, we have finally got a cash settlement figure, but the cheque is a long time coming, said 7-10 days..been 8 now!

HAd several companies round to project amnage it all and do work but either not comfortable with them or they were ripping us of left right and centre.so gonna try two others when cheque is IN BANK!..i bet MR c is having whale of time arguing his case about your ceiling..tell him Hi and thanks to you both

Oh, I could use some help with this too, but I need tab tops, can anyone help?

cmotdibbler · 23/05/2008 10:49

Bump - easiest thing to do is to buy blackout material. Cut to size of curtain, and turn bottom and top up. Put right sides together, and sew down sides. Turn the right way out, and sew across top.

You can buy cheap blackout from Remmnant House

PinkChick · 23/05/2008 10:49

OOOHHHHHH Mrs C, My Cheques just arrived
