I love the look of them but will they stain horribly? Can you clean them up? Tell me your fascinating stories

they're damned uncomfortable to sit on, tbh. not good for kids.

Hmmm that's part of the appeal, keep them out of the lounge when I'm trying to watch neighbours (no sorry children I need both sofas to watch this quality drama you'll have to sit on the rug...)

oh i see, go for it then. mine didn't stain, or if it did it was suffiently knobbly for it not to be noticeable. and you can always turn it over to the fresh side if you've got fancy guests coming.

(but i infinitely prefer my wool rug)

DANCESwithLordPottingtonSmythe · 22/05/2008 18:48

HRGH...I know wool would be better but makes me even more nervous on the spillage front. We have an magical amazing rug at the moment which it seems to be impossible to stain but it's starting to fray a bit and to be honest I'm SO sick of it! We've had it 10yrs and I'm bored of looking at the damn thing!

I have one in our conservatory which is also the playroom - it is fine.

MargaretMountford · 22/05/2008 18:53

are they those really hard ridgy ones ? if so no because we had them in our bedroom as children and they hurt our knees and left indentations in them, plus plasticine got embedded in it. My mum also made us wear scratchy Norweigian jumpers.

we have a soft jute rug in our front room and its soooo hard wearing but not that rough tbh. I always put a play mat down for the children anyways so if they spill something the rug is saved
