Aitch's continuing holiday saga... can you help her find a cheapoid dvd player for the plane journey ? seriously ladies, you've come up trumps every time so far...

DH most impressed and Very Nearly coming round to thinking that i amn't wasting my time on here.

so, anyone know anything about the portable dvd player marketplace?

I was in currys the other day and they seem to have quite a few in the small and cheap department.

Not sure where you are going but have you thought of using a laptop? We took my laptop on holiday last year and it worked perfectly well as a DVD player for the DCs as well. Just mentioning it as it was a bit of a lightbulb moment for me and saved buying a dvd player.

We bought the Venturer one about 3 years ago and it's still going strong. Got it in Argos and was v cheap

our entire careers are on our laptops, though, so if they got damaged it would be Unbelievably Bad. oh, and the batteries are GUBBED. plus let's be honest if i took my laptop on holiday i'd end off mning...

there seems to be such a difference in the prices, eh? what's the difference in the actual product? i can't really make it out. Confused

lol cd, i've just phoned richer sounds and am picking up the philips one tomoz. it's better for me than the hitachi because it plays divx dvds (ie not strictly legal ripped off the internet ones). how fab. seriously, i love mn for this sort of thing. i may even start a thank you list...

it's 20 quid cheaper than at comet and a tenner cheaper than at argos for the same thing. thank you for the richer sounds tip, cd, i'd never have thought to look there.
