Supermarket loyalty cards ... which are best?

Last year I earned over £200 with Asda rewards and put it towards my Christmas food shop, I didn't shop anywhere else. However they've now changed it and you hardly earn any points at all.

So which supermarket do you think is best for earning points? Sainsbury's, Tesco, Morrisons ... at the moment I'm flitting between them but want to earn as much as I can with one to help with Christmas food.

I've googled it and they all seem to offer 1 point per £1 but wondering if I'm missing anything? thankyou

Can’t really comment on Tesco or Morrison - I mainly shop in Sainsbury’s & Aldi. You can maximise your points in Sainsbury’s by getting the Nectar app, taking note of the products you get extra points on & tailoring your meals/shopping to them. They run point offers - recently there was a do 5 shops before 4th June & get 700 points. Plus the Nectar prices are handy for products you buy regularly.

If you download the Klarna app, you can put all of your loyalty cards in one place then collect points/money off vouchers wherever you shop. Use Top Cashback or Quidco for all online shopping including supermarket home delivery or click and collect and keep the cashback from that to use for Christmas too. It's a bit of a faff but well worth it for the savings and not being tied to one particular shop.

I have a Tesco clubcard credit card which earns me points even when I don't shop in Tesco. It's not a huge amount but it sure adds up and I put all my spending on there and pay off in full every month to earn points.

I also do the clubard challenges every month. These are on the ap and you earn considerable bonus points for spending so much throughout the month on items you usually buy anyway. For example, this month I earned 1280 bonus points for spending £78 on fruit and another 1280 bonus points for buying a £55 Tesco gift voucher(which I just use to pay for the shopping as normal. I usually get about £30 worth of bonus clubcard vouchers per month this way on top of the vouchers I collect from using my credit card and doing my shop in Tesco. This year I have around £500 worth of clubcard vouchers. This can then either be used for face value in Tesco or doubled up with their reward partners. So instead of £500, I now have £1000 which I'm going to use towards my holiday!

Wow this is amazing, this is what I was hoping for with this thread. Thank you so much for this.

I am now going to order a credit card and do what you do, pay it off each month as I'd be spending it anyway. thank you👏

Tesco Clubcard points are worth 1p, Sainsbury's Nectar points are worth 0.5p, but Sainsbury's seem to do more bonus points offers on purchases.

Interested to know the answer, as I have all the apps but am not loyal to any of them so never seem to accrue anything! Lidl give me a lot of free stuff but then of course I end up going back there and spending more!

agree the Asda one nowhere near as good as it was. Morrisons takes me a zillion years to get to £5 off.

I knowwww, so frustrating, I'm no longer loyal to any. Going to go for the Tesco one from now on.

Where can I see clubcard challenges?

Open your app and click on the search icon at the bottom of the page, then click in the bar at the top and they it should come up, if not just start typing clubcard and it will prompt it

None of them - it's just a way of collecting your data. Supermarkets aren't charities.

Where can I see clubcard challenges?

Download the ap, log in, click on clubcard option at the bottom and the challenges thing is a different banner which you click on and it takes you to an external website but it's linked to your clubcard so you can check your progress.

I like the lidl app.

I don't bother with any other, but I'm always getting money off vouchers and some free stuff

I like a Tesco. We've went 2 long weekends to Barcelona and used our point to pay for our accomodation.
