I’m going to France next week, what gems in Carrefour should I buy?

Dragibus sweets and Lorenz Curly Cacahuète flavour (peanut puff crisps)… we lived in France for four years and that’s the things the kids miss… besides all the baguettes and croissants and chouquettes but this from a bakery not a supermarket! For me it would be duck breasts, mousse de canard, good butter with fleur de sel and Comte cheese… even better if you can get to a proper fromagerie though 😋

Raspberry Lu Pims - bloody love those. So much better than Jaffa cakes

Some tins of Cassegrain Petits Pois. They’re so much better than any UK tinned peas. They’ve become a camping staple for us.

Some Rhum Agricole as it’s so hard to find in the UK. It tastes very different to standard rum. It’s the main ingredient in ‘Ti Punch, a drink DH is fond of making for us whenever we stay in France.

And, of course, some six packs of the dinky 250ml bottles of beer that are sold in all French supermarkets. Carrefour usually have a good range of beer types, it’s not all lager. I’d go as far as to say that Carrefour usually have a better range of beer than similarly sized UK supermarkets.

I stock up on Le Peitit Olivier lavender soap whenever I go. So much cheaper there! 😊
