Need to find dress.

So long story short; my sister is getting married in July and has a pretty strict dress code.

Shes got a very Boho, hippie vibe and would like everyone in long dresses with ‘fun’ sleeves.

The problem is I shall be 30 weeks pregnant at the time of the wedding and I am struggling to find any maternity dresses in that style.

She loves the cottage core look but a lot of dresses in this style are too casual for a wedding (in my opinion.)

So, I have found one dress however it is clearly a fake version of a real dress. I’m hoping someone could find the original? I’ll attach a photo but frustratingly even on a reverse image search it’s only coming up with eBay and Amazon ect so I know the fabric/ quality would be poor.

Im also open to other suggestions or ideas.

I don’t want to spend more than £100 however as I am now panicking I would spend more if it was my only option.

I can’t wear cream/white or black.

Thank you!

That’s fine!
& a poor quality dress from Amazon can be enhanced with a little trim of the loose threads and an iron or steamer! …: which you can sometimes have to do with a premium priced one!!

it’s for one day. Don’t spend a fortune. But do put in a little attention to detail to make sure it looks nice!

it might come vacuum packed rather than in lavish tissue paper … but I’m sure the dress will be fine!

(how do you think £’000 wedding dresses ship from China?! … it’s not spread out in manakins! … the price goes up because someone here unpackaged them and makes them presentable!!)

What is a ‘fun sleeve’’? To be honest I think I’d say I’m pregnant and just wear something nice that flatters you and you feel good in. It seems ridiculous to decide that guests need to wear fun sleeves, whatever they are. That would seriously annoy me and I’d feel like wearing something quite the opposite just to make a point.

Just get a phone maternity one in a couple sizes up! I never bothered with mat clothes second pregnancy

YoungSoak · 14/05/2025 09:45

Have a look at Hope and Ivy maternity or Monsoon. I’d look on Vinted or Depop if you think it’s something you’ll only wear once

Piratebadger · 14/05/2025 09:45

try shein, i have had several occasion dresses from there and lots of compliments on the quality etc

There will be lots of boho/frill/floaty choices cropping up as we approach summer. When you say long, does it need to be long or floor length? This is on the higher end of your budget, but I did find lots of cheaper/high street options too - www.asos.com/hope-ivy-maternity/hope-ivy-maternity-frill-sleeve-maxi-wrap-dress-with-tie-waist-in-green-print/prd/207956593?affid=29144&freelisting=yes

H&M have some nice dresses. I might be inclined to go for a plain, stretchy dress, with a pretty kimono top over. 30 weeks pg, in July, you will likely be hot, and not want acres of flappy polyester.

Any bridzilla dictating what guests wear can bloody well pay for the things themselves! This is so fucking rude!
Most people hate weddings anyway…unless there’s a free bar or course
And please don’t ask for money as gifts…that just screams skanky!

NancyJoan · 14/05/2025 10:30

Worth having a look on Vinted too. Will probably get something worn once or twice for not much outlay.

Emmz1510 · 14/05/2025 10:36

What a ridiculously specific dress code! However, you might find that’s an easier style to wear when pregnant than if she’d specified, say, cocktail dresses only, or something really formal. You are basically getting the go ahead to wear something fun and floaty!
The one you are looking at is lovely, and lots of other good suggestions here

Jamandtoastfortea · 14/05/2025 11:41

I had a great long dress with lovely sleeves from Isabelle Oliver when I was v pregnant for Xmas parties etc. I gave it to charity shop (kids are 10 so im a bit slow at sorting!!!) only last week, otherwise you could have had it. Are they still about?

minipie · 14/05/2025 11:51

Anyone else imagining all the fun sleeves dipping into the food? This kind of sleeve is pretty but a total pain practically speaking

I just hope they don’t have candles 😱

Boho maternity dresses
There are some nice ones on this site

That dress is so pretty and has fun sleeves that wont dangle in your food.

There are some nice dresses on
Joe Browns

They are quite bohemian style and loose fitting. They may not be quite what you have in mind for a wedding, but the they are pretty, reasonably priced , and you could wear them afterwards.
