Clothes shops like oasis, warehouse, principles

I always used to know exactly where to find clothes I liked, that didn’t date quickly, and that fitted. Oasis, Warehouse, Principles were my usuals, and a trip around Debenhams would usually result in a purchase. Since the closure of those shops (and the online equivalents being nothing like the original brands quality) I don’t know where to shop. I like Izabel London for some maxi dresses. Where else can people suggest? If relevant I’m 53 and standard size 12. Like things that require minimal ironing or handwashing and that can be dressed up or down.

I feel your pain @Koolforkats!
Oasis & Warehouse were my “go to” places.
I hate shopping but quite often have success in French Connection & Mango. Plus Baukjen and sometimes Hush.
my friends swear by Zara & Mint Velvet

Thank you! Yes I know what you mean about Zara but I’ve never found things there myself. Mint Venet is a good shout! I’ll google the others.

Warehouse was ace!
I reallly really miss Topshop too, so many hours spent in there on Oxford St back in the day.
And Miss Selfridge.

I know people love it but Primark coming on the scene and growing as well as it did really kind of killed off some of the brands I grew up with.

Have you looked at brands like fransa, ichi, culture etc

Thank you! I’ve never heard of those so will check them out.

I’ve ordered a couple of tops from Saint & Sophia in the last week and really like them, although more expensive than Oasis /Warehouse was.
