i will be haunting the for sale/wanted boards as well lol.

so highchair, that ikea one is ok? antilope or what its called? i dont need an all singing dancing etc one do i? last one i had with padding etc was a bugger to keep clean. this looks easier to wipe down.

moses basket stand. well carrycot stand really. anyone know a good cheap basic one?

plain baby nightdresses? have found some on john lewis at £6 each, anyone know any cheaper ones?

bumbo? had one for dd3, found it excellant, are these still good? have they been bettered at all by that lionheart one?

thanks.

We have a M&P high chair - awful to keep clean. I wish I had got a simple Ikea one, as DS is happy to sit in one when we are out.
We also had a bumbo and it was great. I haven't had any experience of other makes of similar things, so I would go with the Bumbo again.
I would scour the for sale sections for a moses basket stand.

hunkermunker · 17/05/2008 14:39

Go for the Ikea highchair. Legs come off it so you can use it as a travel one too I believe.

missblythe · 17/05/2008 14:43

Do you have an NCT nearly New Sale near you? Ours always has lots of moses basket stands for around £5-10, and highchairs too, altough they are prob no cheaper than the Ikea one, and harder to keep clean.

Have got some of the nighties you can have. I didn't get on well with them, so hardly used them and they are in the hall waiting to go to the chaity collection man on Monday. If you give me your email address, I can get your address and post them to you.

NotABanana · 17/05/2008 14:51

I have 2 travel highchairs if any use to you.

misdee · 17/05/2008 17:47

tesco have very cheap newborn pyjama vests and sleep suits, i think 7 for 7pounds. marks and spencer and next are also quite cheap, but obviously not as cheap. the tescos one wash surprising well and don't shrink too much.

misdee · 18/05/2008 18:19

i dont need sleepsuits i am after nightdresses as they are sooo much easier for night time nappy changes.

found bots had 20% off bumbo seats but all out of stock. so will carry on hunting.

misdee, I remember mothercare did them £10 for 2, so that would be cheaper than jl if they haven't upped the prices?

misdee · 18/05/2008 20:13

cant find them on the mothercare site.

i have loads of pink ones still, but dh is saying if baby is a boy then we cant use pink lol.

tassisssss · 18/05/2008 20:17

asda sometimes do the baby nightdresses

i'd def go for the ikea highchair

my 2 loved the bumbo but some babies don't seem to get on too well with it so might be worth waiting and seeing if you can try one out with your littlie before buying? or wait until all your lovely friends ask what you want for your wee one and you can think of nothing you need (this is currently happening to me a lot!)

accessorizequeen · 18/05/2008 20:23

no, I couldn't either but I have seen them in store and they were unisex (like yellows/greens) so suitable if you manage to find any! I've never used them, I might consider them this time with twins coming but was thinking newborn grobags with long sleeved vest maybe.

misdee · 18/05/2008 20:24

i got the pink ones for 50p each in the mothercare sale when i found out dd3 was a girl!

twins! wow, i didnt even know you were pregnant.

i am eying up the new coloured grobags as well. the purple stripey one is gorgeous!

maybe you'll get lucky in the next m/care sale then, misdee! Haven't seen new-style grobags, thought I'd have to ebay/nct with cost of two more...I'm 20 weeks, only found out at 17 week scan so still getting used to it.

v. delighted for you with no.4, are you going to find out sex?

misdee · 19/05/2008 08:08

yes i am, at 20 week scan hopefully.

check bumpto3 for new grobags, i bought two second hand ones from NCT NNS a couple of weeks ago, at £5 each so can afford one new one as well. i love this one

misdee · 19/05/2008 08:15

oh thanks will check tesco

dd3 was in hers for ages. found them fab.

mind you if its another girl i will be fine lol.

Check ebay for nightdresses I've just bought three for my granddaughter for a total, including postage, of six pounds. All new, one still had the tags on.

I've also seen lots of small sleeping bags going for 99p.

CorrieDale · 19/05/2008 08:21

Antilop is great. Dead easy to clean and easily transported. Thinking of buying another to keep at my mum's.

Didn't find a Bumbo that useful. We only used it for about 6 weeks before DD was tryign to get out of it and getting scarily close to succeeding.

Try an NCT sale as well for bargains.

I am def. going to get a bumbo this time too! They always go like hotcakes at NCT, rats. Going to one in June so I'm going to stock up as although bump big I think I can elbow others out of the way hee hee.

I am having one of each so I spose I had better buy some girlie grobags off ebay! You are v.organised in advance misdee, I'll be having twins in sept, haven't got a thing but then I did keep everything as ds2 only 17 months.

NotABanana · 19/05/2008 12:21

Just seen this again.

A travel high chair is a portable one you can take out with you to eat at friends, etc houses.

I have loads of baby stuff needing a new home if you want anything.
