Who's got roman blinds with blackout fabric? Advice needed please!

I'm getting some blinds made but the person who's making them showed me some she's made using black out fabric and they have little holes where she's stitched the blackout fabric to the other fabric and blind structure. It looked a bit odd seeing little bits of light coming through when the blinds were down and I want to avoid it. She's going to investigate a way of doing it without but I thought I would too.

Do your blinds have this? Or, if not, how is the blackout fabric fixed to the rest of it then?

TIA.

my roman blinds have this. in any case, the blackout doesn't work completely, as it would with curtains, cos the roman blind will tend to let a bit of light through at the each side too...

I wouldn't bother getting blackout lining on roman blinds - spent a lot of time and effort doing just that on my DD curtains to realise it is not effective! You will get the light coming through the stitching - especially as the more layers of fabric you have (inc the blackout), the bigger the needle needed, the bigger the holes. In any case, I've found roman blinds generally don't cover enough of the window surround to block out light totally.

You could go for a blackout roller blind which is attached separately behind the roman blind, so you still get the look.
