Is it the same price wise as Lidl or more expensive?

What is good to buy?

aldi is fan-blardy-tastic. their fresh stuff is very fresh, meats and stuff we don't buy that often but they seem good, love their instant cappucino and the biscuits and pastries yummmm (bonus is that lots of them are dairy free and gluten free too)
And the beer and wine! I could go on (and on and on)

prices seem quite similar to lidl btw

Good: parmesan, bottled artichokes/mushrooms, poncy pizza with rocket, chocolate, smoked fish, fruit and nut mix, crisps, frozen, breaded fish

Variable: fruit and veg, you just have to see what's good

Poor: cheddar, mustard

Had to report back was v impressed spent £57 on a weekly big shop for 5!!!!!!!!!!! Only thing I need to get is yogs.

They had purple sprouting broccolli 49p a bag!!!!!!! The baby plum toms were lovely as were the organic bananas. We bought a bottle of cheap Chianti and it was really nice. I bought the wholemeal butter biscuits for the kids and they seem to love them. The rolls, choc and spreadable butter were really good too.

The ham all seemed to be reformed so didn't get, any will stock up at Lidl.

Got to fly, can hear evil cackles in the garden -all in all a very successful shopping trip, thanks for the advice.

Aldi is the one with the hilarious packages that look just like well known brands but instead of McVities Jaffa Cakes you might get Snaffa Cakes in the same blue box. Wonderful place.
