Jacket that actually covers bust area

Why do so many coats/ jackets seem to be designed as though women don’t have boobs?

I rarely find a coat / jacket that doesn’t have a gaping section on my front, let alone zip up.

I am size 16-18 on top and am loathe to keep going up a size just so I can cover my front - as I end up with ill fitting clothes.

Anyone have similar issues and a brand they favour ?

I brought Rains coat a fews ago as I needed a reliable waterproof for work - it was the first coat I could do up in yonks but it is a tent and it would be nice to have a quilted jacket and one that covers one’s bosoms.

I also have a long body and cannot wear coats that sit at waist as they are too exposing for me.

I have the same problem! Long torso and big boobs! I find Crew Clothing shirts and blazers fit me well.

My main coat is a Barbour waxed jacket, bit it's a size 22!! I have a Mountain Equipment down jacket and gilet which work in length and width (size 16).

It's all a bit hit n miss.
