what are girls sandals from Next like to wear?

My dd has spotted a pair of sandals with lights, they are leather and look just as good as some of the Startrite/Clarks sandals I usually get her and ds.

So wondered what people who have bought from Next before thought of their sandals. They are certainly considerably cheaper!
Are they supportive enough etc etc. Am I just brainwashed by Startrite/Clarks
She is 4.5yrs.

my friend's 4.5 yr old dd has some next sandals - birkie type, with flowers on. they seem pretty comfy & hard wearing.

just had a look, they look great!!

I have a pair of Next sandals ( girls size 5) and they are good too.

I might have to take dd into Next.

this sounds great, they look so much nicer as well compared to the others I have seen in shoe shops. So could not blame dd for liking them.

they are ok for mcuking about it but my dd gets sore feet if she say, for example, went for a walk in them. they arent supportive enough for a proper walk or a whole day in them iyswim

really nailpolish, which ones did your dd have. The ones I put above seem just as padded as any I have got from Startrite/Clarks? Does she have sandals or summer type shoe/trainers?

it was a pair last year. dd wore them for a walk to the local shop (15mins there and 15mins back) and she said her feet hurt. she wore them another time for a walk down the beach and she said the same

i would buy them again though, will probably get both dds a pair this year, but only for mucking about it really. i even found they washed well in the machine!

maybe dd2 has high arches or something

nailpolish · 07/05/2008 10:13

they were sandals

nailpolish · 07/05/2008 10:15

carameli,

dd2s were more like this

this

than the ones you linked. the ones you linked look a bit more supportive

nailpolish · 07/05/2008 10:15

the white ones

i bought dd a pair of £39 sandals last year, i can count on one hand the amount of times she wore them. the £8 next ones she wore to death.

carameli - my dds have both had the trekking sandals and they're great! She's about the same age as your dd.
I'm also a bit brainwashed by clarks etc, but these really are good. In fact, she has narrow feet and the straps can be easily adjusted which is more than can be said for the Clarks collection last year!

DontCallMeBaby · 07/05/2008 22:29

DD had Next trekking sandals when she was 2, they were fine. Last year (3) she had similar and they seemed to rub her feet. I've not bothered this year, she's got highly discounted Hush Puppy ones from Brantano instead. Next shoes seem pretty narrow on the whole, and her feet seem to fluctuate from average to a little on the wide side, so I think at 2 they were (relatively) narrower than at 3. Maybe!

Sandals can be pretty unforgiving, I think, it can be as much down to luck as professional fitting whether they rub or not - so maybe better to make a cheap Next etc mistake than an expensive Clarks/Startrite one.
