Grrrr! I read about it on here, it is a site that makes a cheaper version of grobags, that are just as good apparently.
I have searched the threads ut to no avail, does anyone know what I am on about?!

Here is one that is mentioned a lot.

However, having bought some bags from them, in my opinion they are not quite as good as Grobags, they aren't 100% cotton (which means they are less breathable, and not ideal for LOs with eczema like my DS) and the sizes come up smaller.

I thought there was Mumsnet discount on bump2three or whatever grobag official site is called but can't find details on the member discounts section atm

mumclaire · 05/05/2008 21:21

Don't know what the quality is like but Ikea now sell gro/sleeping bags for £8-10

pamplemousse · 05/05/2008 21:21

Hmmm I am disappointed now, as that was the one I was thinking of, and DD has eczema occasionally. Ebay it is, thanks

Will check it out, I think its 10% discount.
Mumclaire I was in IkEA the other day and they only go up to size 6-18, and dd is too big for that now, thanks anyway

How do you get the MN 10% discount from Bumpsto3? I've linked to the site through MN but can't see how to do it, ia there is a code I type in?

Pamplemousse, have you checked the for sale on MN? There's grobags listed now but don't know what size you're after.

TK Maxx (sp) often have Grobags for about 12.99.

I've bought Slumbersacs from TKMaxx and off Ebay and found them to be just as good but at least £10 cheaper (often more)than Grobags. The only difference I noticed with the most recent size I have (6-18 month) is that the Slumbersacs were a little wider but shorter than the Grobags so DD is now in her Grobag as her feet were just beginning to touch the bottom of the Slumbersac. They are lined with 100% cotton and the outer fabric was either cotton jersey or a poly-cotton mix. Both Grobags and the 'cheaper' ones are filled with polyester wadding so not having a 100% cotton outer would have little affect on its breathability. I also found them easier to wash/dry than Grobags as they open up fully with a zip (smaller size anyway) whereas the Grobags don't quite open up completely - the inner lining has also got quite bobbly on the GB but not on the SS.

Thanks Mejon, I'll have a look out for a Slumbersac,I think dd's first sleeping bag was one of these and I loved it.
I couldn't get any discounts up on the page at all heated so I have no idea, sorry! Will check for sale section too, didn't think of that , dur!
Off to TKMaxx soon, thanks, tz

John Lewis baby sleeping bags have 100% cotton outer, lining and wadding. I bought some for DS because DP is allergic to polyester fibres and DS has had a night time cough.

The Grobags (2.5 tog) have polyester filling but the summer ones without wadding in are 100% cotton.

Twinklemegan · 06/05/2008 22:06

www.babygurgles.co.uk often have Grobags on sale - excellent service as well. Mothercare currently has £10 off if you buy two, either their own brand or Grobags.

If you go for a cheaper make do watch out, as they are generally much shorter in length and won't last as long.

Up to 5 sslrelay.com/s97917119.oneandoneshop.co.uk/sess/utn;jsessionid=154822199c3fd6e/shopdata/?mai nurl=productoverview.shopscript

They're generally a bit cheaper - I think - and the customer service is excellent. I've bought a few things from them and would highly recommend.
