Can't afford to spend £30 every 6/7 weeks!

I would say if you child is out-growing their shoes every 6 -8 weeks regularly they have not been fitted correctly. Fitters usually measure for shoes and allow for 'growing room' so I would query that.

I sometimes buy new on ebay much cheaper

My son is 2years and 2 months.
Ok, I may have exaggerated a bit saying it's every 6-8 weeks, though the last time it was after 7 weeks that we had to replace them. I was a bit annoyed as the salesperson had only gone up half a size.
He is a wide 'H' fitting so not that easy to get off Ebay or the like.

I'd take them back and say they must have been wrongly fitted for them to have only lasted 7 weeks
