Anyone got a SWIM FIN & are they any good?

DH and I disagree on whether they would be worth buying.

My sons swimming teacher uses one & the kids love them.

I know this is an old thread but easier than starting my own.

Just bought a swim fin from ebay (19.99 delivered and it came the next day) for dd (8) and ds2 (almost 3) to share.

How have people found it?

We are going swimming today so I'll tell you how we get on.

They use them with the level 1 and 2 groups at DD's swimming lessons. They seem to work very well.

Dd got on very well. She could swim straight away with it on, and it even gave her the confidence to swim with it off.

For ds2 it wasn't quite such a sucsess, I think he needs to learn how to hold his body in the water. But he was starting to get it by the end

DD can know swim about 5m without the swim fin! I think it just gave her that confidence and helped her postion herself in the water. It also doesn't get in the way like arm bands/noodles do.

ds2 was managing really well today with it too. He was moving around much more easily and naurally in the water than with armbands or a swimming jacket.

bought one today in the local JJB Sports for £7.49!!!

got it to take on holiday as a bit of fun. Intresting to hear it might actually work.
