Baby slings for a fatty!

Im a size 22 and thought a sling would come in handy on holiday in a few weeks and for when dc4 arrives. So can anyone recommend something, dd3 is 7 months and 15lbish by the way

Maybe a wilkinet? You can buy them with "standard" length strings, and "longer" strings as well. The other brilliant thing about them is that you don't need to adjust them if a DP or someone else wants to have a go and you are both completely different sizes.

I adore mine for my LO (5 months) but TBH someone else would need to advise on whether it is any good for a 7 month old.

Have a nice holiday!

Standard hug-a-bub fits me great but dd is only 16 weeks. Think it'd be ok though, it's very stretchy and very comfortable. Any time I've bought a sling in a bigger size it's been stupidly enormous.

Babyhawk ?

Sorry no advice but had to pop in and find out if you meant mum or baby was the fatty

I'm way bigger than you and find ring slings are best. Anything that ties around the middle emphasises my bigness. A ring sling goes over one shoulder so not too bad for shape. They are totally comfortable and fit any size. You can wear the same one as a skinny dh - just adjust when you put it on.

I'm a size 22 and a kari-me fitted me and dd until she got too heavy at about a year old.

I have a kari me too, and it fits fine. The problem is that it makes me feel really hot. I imagine its good for winter babies, but I have had two summer ones with another on the way.

A Mei Tai, like a babyhawk, Kozy, Napsackbaby, Connecta .... with XL straps. They are cooler for the summer. That will work for DC3 and for baby once baby is older. Some Mei tais are also quite good from newborn.

Google cwtshi. I really like them for tiny babies.

I made a wrap for a friend who's husband also wanted to carry with it, (well over 6' and built to match) it worked quite well on him. I think as with clothes the colour/ pattern will have an effect on the emphasis.

Thanks everyone for replying, im looking on ebay for a ring sling, im not bothered what i look like but after last years fiasco of walking miles from the plane carrying the baby to collect the buggy i figure this has got to be easier!!
