I should say first off that I am a man and after typing this warning I shall, in respect of the site's aims, terminate my membership here.
Please do be aware when shopping in Iceland that they have a proven and documented history of discrepancies between the prices shown on shelves / freezers and the actual prices charged at the checkout. . . which does not work in the customer's favour.
In fairness to them I shall add that on this occasion they charged the advertised price when challenged (as per receipt shown below) but we all know that not everybody has time to check the price of every item as it passes through the checkout.
I have written to their customer services department on several occasions regarding this matter, and also written directly to the head of the company, Michael Walker, but given that he has an estimated personal wealth of some £265million he may not, as others do, find the extra costs an inconvenience.
The firm's advertising claims 'that's why Santa goes to Iceland'.
He fails to mention why customers maybe shouldn't.
Best wishes
