can anyone recommend a sling for an older baby?

she's nearly one and too big for a baby bjorn but still keen on being transported about like a baby kangaroo

I would go for a back sling. I found the ergo very good (can also be used on the front or side). The mai tai is supposed to be very good, can also be used front or back.

Yes, mei tai and ergo sling can both be used to carry your baby on your back or on your front. I found it far more comfortable to carry my baby on my back.
