extending a stair gate downwards!!!

stair is a very!!! funny construction but putting one on regardless at top of flight of stairs...but there is a big gap at bottom of stair gate where potentially lo could sneak under....

any suggestions what to do with gap to prevent little one sliding underneath???

We had a similar problem, but no solution. In the end, dp made a gate to fit the bottom, and we put the gate across the dds bedroom door instead of at the top of the stairs.

we had to fix a bit of wood to the bottom of our downstairs gate to stop our puppy going under it when she was little. Funny thinking of it now, as she's so huge and we still have it on there! Cant' believe she was ever that little. Anyway, gate is wooden and DH just drilled and screwed the plyboard on, works a treat but not beautiful

yeah that is one thing we are thinking of doing - not beautiful at all - gate looks ace but not sure an extension home made by us will....

ho hum....

surprised noone makes bottom extentions - they make side ones....
