Car A.

You DO NOT want a 3 door car when you have 2 children to put in the back!

evenhope · 28/04/2008 22:00

Head

but second mpg and co2

Heated · 28/04/2008 22:00

5 door every time with 2 children, especially if you have to manoeuvre them into car seats.

Which make of car? I'll probably change my mind

I'd usually be inclined to go for the one that looks stunning but couldn't live with 3 doors with 2 children.

NoBiggy · 28/04/2008 22:24

3 door cars are so rubbish unless you'll only ever use the front seats.

How long does a love affair with a car last anyway? For a while I looked admiringly at my car, but now it's just the grubby red one with all the toys inside.

But it's inexpensive insurance and tax still makes me happy

LyraSilvertongue · 28/04/2008 22:25

Tbh, having just google them, I hate both

I have this car. Very expensive to run but I love it so much more than the practical Nissan I had before.

Heated · 28/04/2008 22:34

Isn't there anything else in the equation?

If there isn't, then I'd pick Toyota over Fiat every time.

LyraSilvertongue · 28/04/2008 22:35

My first car was a Fiat Panda and it was a pile of crap.

Heated · 28/04/2008 22:41

Friend picketed her local fiat dealership after they refused to replace her new car which inexplicably lost all power on 5 occasions, the last time in the middle lane of the motorway. Customer 'care' was dire.

SniffyHock · 28/04/2008 22:41

Can you borrow a 3 door then get your DH to use it for a weekend with the children - I'm sure he'll change his mind.

Will it be your only family car? If so, def don't get the 3 door. Even if your children can get themselves in and out, they're girls, imagine the luggage you'll need on future holidays!!

Italians aren't known for their car-making skills. I wouldn't buy a French car either.
But then I've got an American car ad they're not top of the car-making league either.

SniffyHock · 28/04/2008 22:42

Golf? Everyone I know that has one loves it.

I loved my old mk2 Golf Driver. I had it for almost a decade but sold it once the bloody grandad car (Nissan) came along (given to us by DP's dad when he stopped driving).
