So I buy a mattress for my disabled mother, mattress arrives. Let mattress settle for suggested time, mother has 1st night on mattress and can't sleep due to an intern lump or fold. I contact Wayfair and explain the problem. My mother bought a mattress from a local supplier as she had nothing to sleep on. So I want to return. The process has taken ages and many chats with agents. After a picture being sent and an explanation of the issue to multiple agents, I am told by Wayfair through the WhatsApp chat to dispose of the item and my refund is on the way and i should receive it the following day. I get the mattress removed and put behind the shed until a man can come and dispose. No refund the next day, so I again contact through the same chat and the wayfair agent now wants the item back. Is this legal to do? Many thanks in advance for any advice given
