ADVICE NEEDED URGENTLY PLEASE PHIL & TEDS

Hi

I have seen an ad localy for a phil & teds double pushchair.
Includes
Cocoon
double rain cover
double uv sun mesh
2 pack of pannier bags

A doubles pack that attaches to the back of the E3 and She states the clip on the front is broken so the toddler seat can only sit to the back now.

Is this huge what sort of impact does it have overall? sorry I know nothing about them apart from what I gleam and that appears to be these are good buggies.

How much would you pay? she's asking £200 is that a fair price?

Any help greatly appreciated as I need to get back to her in the morning.

Thanks for your time

It means you can't use it for a newborn and toddler, if apart from the broken clip it is in good condition the price is ok IMO

kittywise · 26/04/2008 22:23

Agree with CarGirl, if you don't need the cocoon then the price is fine

CarGirl · 26/04/2008 22:24

Sell the cocoon on, or alternatively it may be worth finding out how much it is to get it repaired. In fact it may just be that the hinge (which come off and on the buggy) is broken and you can buy new hinges cheaply on ebay or possibly direct from distributer.

We had to get the main frame on our P&T replaced (long story) and that part was 20 pounds, so the hinge is not likely to be expensive.I would check whether she means the hinge or the clip on the frame, if you need the newborn position, and if so, cost the repair, but it sounds like a good price to me.

Thanks Ladies you are stars!!!
She says buggy can lie flat for newborn.
The seat then clips on for 2 toddlers, and Kitty would have to sit in the back.
Does this mean she would have a seat in front?
HOW WITHIT AM I ON THESE BUGGIES?
Here comes a cracker......Can I use it without the doubles kit or do I need that for the seat?

Sorry I have 3 kids and when my first was born it was mamas & papas good old proper prams as my Mum would say or nothing, now it's like WOW!!

I promise after this I will be quiet and go off and watch Hollyoaks and bond with my family

From reading this I would say that 1 of the front hinges has broken. I replaced mine as lost them from my local baby shop for £6 the pair.

pinkyminky · 27/04/2008 09:53

It works fine as a single pram, that's one of the attractions. If you want to push your toddler along with your newborn, toddler goes with the extra seat clipped above the newborn, who lies flat. When newborn gets to around 5-6 months, extra seat then moves to the back and the flat seat fastens together to make the main seat for pram. The lightest child should sit in the back when you have two in, but when the youngest gets a bit bigger, you can swap. DS walks then pops in the back seat if he gets tired.
I feel like P&T rep on here at the mo!

If you want to carry newborn and toddler in pram, you'd want to get the clip issue fixed- but it won't be expensive.

pinkyminky · 27/04/2008 09:55

Main issue- what colour is it?

emsgems · 27/04/2008 10:04

Oh gosh I promised i'd chill out once you guys had assisted.

I bought the buggy all good then my Husband said is there something missing and pointed to the front.

On googling it up I notice no basket/footwell [embarrassed] i have since spent ages looking on ebay and various sites for one to buy in red/grey NO JOY. I have even looked on the phil & teds site they don't mention them. OPPS please help......can feel a lecture from the Hubbie coming on

contact out and about and ask them to sell you one.

pinkyminky · 27/04/2008 20:55

I'd want to know where it's gone. Can you ring the lady and ask her?
Has she taken it off to wash it and forgotten to put it back. It's not really fit for purpose without it.
But OU'n'About are the UK distibruters.
What a shame.

emsgems · 27/04/2008 21:21

Thanks ladies
I'll get onto them.

she's claiming all innocence and stating the basket was optional and she chose not to have it as it wasn't fit for the job.

Wish me luck

thats a load of bull lol.

Nemoandthefishes · 27/04/2008 21:33

thats crap and she knows it
baskets are fitted as standard. I just sold my P+T on ebay for £150 due to fact it needed a new basket and I dont have a credit card plus any excuse to have bought the sport... Anyways out and about do sell them and think it is about £30 with postage for new basket.

pinkyminky · 27/04/2008 21:39

She needs to give you some money back, she said you would be able to use the pram as a double- where are the second child's feet going to go- or the child in front, for that matter. I'd see if you can get her to refund you the cost of a new basket... worth a go?

emsgems · 27/04/2008 21:54

Have just e-mailed her, telling her that I had posted a message on a forum I frequented, and that thanks to some very helpfull people I was now more in the know about the buggy

Told her some home truths then...........

asked for £40 back to cover the spare part needed.
Or she refunded me the full amount and we would return the buggy for her to resale, this time stating all the faults.

I have a feeling she'll tell me to bog off, but worth a shot.

Fingers crossed.
