OK Misdee you were right. Loola is breaking my back. Some buggy advice please...

I have been keeping the Loola in the car. It was great with the car seat, but the big seat unit is killing me to lift in and out. I need something else.

2 questions:

  1. Silver Cross Pop or Maclaren Quest? (don't think the Techno will fit in my Zafira boot)

  2. If I put the Loola on ebay, how on earth do I package it up to courier?

maclaren over silvercross.

go to supermarket and ask for some boxes. use lots and lots of brown taoe to secure. you may need two or more large boxes.

carrycot for my MB. and somrthing to fit in a zafira with 6seats up.

Ceolas · 24/04/2008 15:01

Yes, that's why I ended up with the Loola.

Off the top of my head, Bugaboo, Quinny Buzz with the wheels off. Pramette will fit but 3D will not.

It drove me mad for the longest time!

Oh, and any recommendations courier-wise?

I used Parcelforce recently to send a Mountain Buggy and it was around £20, actually cheaper than the cheapy Ebay ones once you took the measurements into account.

Make sure you measure and weigh it (parceled up) first and check courier website(s) before committing to a delivery price as their size specs and delivery prices seem to vary quite a lot, some were quoting around £50 for the same parcel.

misdee · 24/04/2008 15:14

i use couriersdirect on ebay. box size 120cmx60cmx60cm and upto 30kg in weight.

if i want to book a collection time say between 10am-2pm because of school runs and no dh at home then i use parcel force which is between £15-25 depending on weight.

i always leave postage costs to buyer so i dont have to pay out. if i have to use PF i do say on the listing why i cant use a cheap courier that week.

I love my micralite. The one I have is pretty ancient so we've bought a new one for DC3 on the way, with a carrycot. There are some real bargain ones on ebay at the mo. But they fold up long and thin, so you'd need to check if it'd fit.
I know some people love the mclarens but I hate the brakes- they just don't work.

i cant see why the techno wont fit in your boot?

i can get it in the back of my clio in the smae amount of space that the maclaren quest / volo / daytripper fits is

Ceolas · 24/04/2008 18:26

It's longer nannyL

Quest folded is 104cm long, Techno is 110cm.
