OK, so I followed M'net advice and bought the Ikea cheap as chips highchair, but. . .

. . .How on earth do I get the tray off once I've clipped it on? I know there's a knack from things certain posters said but does anyone know what the knack is? Don't want to break it and have to travel all the way to Wednesbury again

stand behind it put one hand on the tray and the other hand on where the baby's thigh would rest and pull!

Right - stand facing the highchair with the tray towards you. Put your hand down the back of the tray and you'll feel three or four clips. If you unhook one of the edge ones, you can kind of peel/pull the tray off.

Does that make sense? If not, where are you and I'll show you

notjustmom it's the journey that does me in!!!!
Right, listen out for shattering glass as I yank and fall backwards through the plate glass door. . . . . .

Ooo, an option Lilredwg! I'm off to try both -if not, are you anywhere near the west midlands? Do you have web cam??!!

I'm on Bromsgrove. No webcam, but I do home demonstrations.

LilRedWG · 23/04/2008 17:17

In, not on - I'm not quite that big yet .

HonorMatopoeia · 23/04/2008 17:21

PMSL That has really cracked me up Lilredwg!!!!
Ok, a combination of the two methods worked, standing behind and peeling off using the clips
Now, maybe there is a need for a demo duo Lilred? We could team up and be the Ikea cheap as chips demonstration team!!

LOL! I may even make the Worcestershire meetup this time. DH is trying to cry off camping, so I'll be free and may come along with StealthSquiggle.

HonorMatopoeia · 23/04/2008 17:25

Excellent! Would be lovely to meet you and we could perfect out tray removal skills in person

Ah, the old 'all or nothing' approach to highchairs - trust Ikea
