Recommendations for online varifocal glasses

Any recommendations for online opinions? I’ve had a disastrous and disappointing experience of Glasses Direct but wondered if there are any good online providers?

You have to be very accurate with measurements for varifocal lenses, so that your eye sits at the right level to be able to see the distance, and then be able to move so you are able to view the reading and intermediate areas of the lenses.
It isn’t something I would order online tbh.

My recommendation is to go to a good independent optician. Measuring for varifocals is a skilled task.

Try Asda opticians. One price frames includes varifocals Reasonably priced frames

I agree with the others, I wouldn't order varifocals online. I know with my own it took a couple of goes to get it exactly right, the measurements have to be so precise. It's a pain because they are so expensive. I've heard Asda opticians are great value.

I’ve had an emergency pair from Low Cost Glasses when I couldn’t get to the optician; the frame wasn’t great (felt heavy) but the lenses were fine. I had the detailed prescription from the optician which is absolutely necessary for varifocals

I recently ordered a pair of Varifocal specs (with lenses that go dark in the sunshine) from here and had a brilliant service:

I had rung my high street optician because I wanted an identical pair to the ones I'd recently bought from them as I liked them so much, but they said the Ralph Lauren frames and colour were no longer available.

I looked along the arm of my specs and typed it all into Google and the exact same frames came up in the SmartBuyGlasses website.

I then entered all the details from my prescription and ordered the glasses online. There was an extra step where I had to look into my camera and take a photo so they could measure the pupil measurement (or something like that).

A few days later my glasses arrived, identical to mine and about £100.00 cheaper. I was delighted and will do the same next time I need new glasses.

Thanks all. I think I will go back to the High Street and order these in person. To be honest the varifocals I ordered were fine for everyday use but the intermediate vision - which I really need for my job - was very poor. The customer service and follow up was awful.
