We are Aerobed household here. My mother visiting us over the years has endured sofabed, futon, pull-out-from-under beds, sofa cushions on floor, the lot, but with the Aerobed she acrually comments on what a good sleep she's had. She is like the princess and the pea so it is no joke! And they fold up to just a duffel bag.

Did you specifically want some kind of zedbed?

babyjjbaby · 21/04/2008 23:23

if ur not fussed on having a zbed a intex blow up bed might be ok they r bout 5ft wide and bout 2.5 ft off the ground very comfy folds up in a bag like the aerobed but alot cheaper

WendyWeber · 21/04/2008 23:29

We have an Argos single futon chairbed, and everybody who sleeps on it says it's really comfortable (mind you it does have a thin foam mattress, from a defunct Z-bed, under the futon so maybe not a reliable recommendation!)

Anyway the double equivalent is this (but it is a small double)

TsarChasm · 21/04/2008 23:33

We used to have a futon. Ok as a guest bed, but I could never never get on with the thing as a sofa.

It always looked awful. Ok if you plumped it up but the minute you sat on it it would slump and slide off in a heap.

ruddynorah · 21/04/2008 23:40

we have the ikea hemnes day bed.

Dragonbutter · 21/04/2008 23:49

we havethis one from ikea with the best mattress. It's good. But even better because i got it cheap on ebay.

BexieID · 22/04/2008 12:18

The Intex self-inflatinf ones are very good! I got mine from ebay for about £33 delivered brand new.

CountessDracula · 22/04/2008 12:19

I posted a brilliant one on a thread the other day will see if I can find

Frauster · 22/04/2008 12:30

Jay-be's are brilliant. We have a single and it's as comfortable as a proper bed, and easily stowed.

CountessDracula · 22/04/2008 12:32

here it is

CountessDracula · 22/04/2008 12:33

it is fab, can be table, low level table, sofa, chair etc too

WendyWeber · 22/04/2008 13:04

"Faux Leather"

pah

That'll be plastic then

CountessDracula · 22/04/2008 13:05

They do leather too

CountessDracula · 22/04/2008 13:06

look

WendyWeber · 22/04/2008 13:07

This is better, the double equivalent of CD's and in actual genuine real leather, not that nasty faux.

£300 not bad compared to Argos's cheap futon!

WendyWeber · 22/04/2008 13:07

Oh snap, CD

MrsBadger · 22/04/2008 13:13

how foldy does it have to fold?
these are faberoonie as the mattresses zip together giving a proper kingsize

Ceolas · 22/04/2008 15:37

OK, it's a long story, but it's for my parents' house and the requirements are it has to be comfortable enough for a couple to sleep in for say a week at a time. Long term it's going to be kept in a study where the intention is that it's not a permanent 'bed' IYSWIM?

Are these inflatable jobs really comfortable . And do they have them in John Lewis inflated so you can actually sit/lie on them? Packing away in a bag would be ideal if it's comfortable.

MrsB, lovely but perhaps a bit out of the budget. I'm thinking they want to spend maybe £200...

The Aerobed one I have is really comfortable, honest, I have slept on it myself. Normally I hate airbeds (in the camping sense). A lot of different people/couples have slept on it and commented on how comfortable it was. I was also doubtful but now am a believer.

I did have one demonstrated for me in John Lewis, but they only have the more expensive sorts so I didn't buy it from them. Cannot remember whether I actually lay down on it, had the DC rioting around at the time.
